Doe Deere Colors Her World Brightly

Lime Crime founder Doe Deere considers make up a “journey of discovery and experimentation” in fun. Her cruelty-free, vegan cosmetics line began painting the world in bright colors in 2008.

Named on of Self-Made magazine’s 2014 Top Inspiring Female Entrepreneurs, the Russian born Deere originally named Xenia Vorotova, continues to take the fashion world by brightly hued storm. She started out on Ebay, selling her handmade fashions in 2004. It’s her makeup line, launched four years later though, that thrust her to the forefront of the cosmetics industry. She now runs the company with husband Mark Dumbelton, who serves as the company’s president.

Her playful attitude toward make up encourages experimentation. She told Galore magazine that’s it’s not about “looking good” for her, but about fun. That’s an attitude she’s embraced since her first brush with make up at nine years old. At a friend’s sleepover she applied witchy makeup to she and two friends – dark pink eyeshadow and crookedly applied winged eye liner and lip gloss. The threesome was conjuring spirits and Deere felt the makeup would add to the ritual.

Deere considers social media an important part of the “entrepreneurial journey.” She says her favorite aspect is the immediate feedback social media provides. Her brand retains a strong connection to its customers, who she calls “unicorns.”

“To me, unicorns are people who were born different, are aware of it and proud. I think it takes a very specific kind of a person to rock the shades we produce — someone brave, someone who loves color, someone who defies expectations. In other words, a true unicorn,” she explained in her Galore interview.

The now New Yorker provides inspiration for a new generation of female entrepreneurs alongside women like Suze Orman and Arianna Huffington. She draws her own inspiration from visionaries with a “fearless sense of style” such as Dita von Teese and her friends Stella Rose and Elena. The fashion maven who became inspired by antics with her good friends still draws her inspiration from the same well – her own backyard, so to speak. She does admit to one male influence though – the legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld. When shopping for fashions by others she favors Betsy Johnson’s 90s collections and Meadham Kirchhoff and Miu Miu.

In her spare time, Deere writes and performs music. She released an EP, “Supernatural,” in 2008. It spawned three singles, “SF Disco,” “Mona Lisa,” and “One Touch.”

Norka Luque didn’t always know that she wanted to be a singer. From the beginning, she had many different career goals that included the achievement of several different degrees. These degrees all helped shape who she is and have contributed a great deal to the success that she has seen as a singer. Starting out, she thought that she was going to be many different things and she was always changing her career goals. Norka went to France to get a degree. She wanted a degree in business and found an excellent school in France that was going to give her the opportunity to have the degree that she wanted. Because of this, she became fully immersed in the French culture. This is something that brought some influence into her music. Once she completed her business degree, she thought that she could take it somewhere else. For that reason, she got a culinary degree and then a degree in fashion. These degrees did not stick and she continued to wonder what her career would look like in the future.

While she was pursuing one of her many degrees while she was in France, she was given the opportunity to join a band. The band liked the way that she sang and they wanted her to contribute to their great sound. Up until this point, Norka had never even considered a career in the music industry even though she had gone through so many different options that she wanted to do. This was the first time that she was able to truly see what it was like to be a singer and to do the things that she could do.

From there, her music career exploded. She wanted to be a singer full time and quickly found out that she was good at it. She actually was able to use her experience that she had gotten from her various degrees to help herself while pursuing her career in singing. Both the business and the fashion degree helped her. She knew what she needed to do to be able to achieve the success, she saw it and she went for it. She is now a successful music artist who has been making waves with her tunes.

Since its inception Autism Rocks has raised almost $800,000 — a huge sum that has gone directly to helping research and spread the word on autism.

Kyle Bass has made some strange decisions, but some of them have paid off, and it’s understandable why he has adopted underhanded angles in a lot of his dealings. This is a pseudo-humanitarian organization run by Kyle Bass. This was first revealed by UsefulStooges in their article, Kyle Bass the Frantic Investments of a Desperate Gambler.

Its ostensible purpose is to help the infirm by lowering the cost of drugs. Its real purpose is to lower big-ticket pharmaceuticals’ stock value so Bass can short-sell his holdings when CAD’s work is done and make millions. See, CAD uses petitions, lawsuits, public sympathy and any means necessary to force the stock drops Bass is aiming for. It’s such an obvious scheme even Congress has looked into ways Bass may be shut down; and that in a bipartisan way. As yet, nothing can be done, as he isn’t technically breaking the law. But when big ticket pharmaceutical companies lose millions of profit due to a forced price drop, the net result is restriction of funding to departments in development. When all is said and done, the sick lose more than had they not petitioned for price drops, as future medical breakthroughs are lost.


With this in mind, now consider Bass’ statements about China. Kyle has said that there is a forty to fifty percent chance the Chinese debt bubble will burst by the end of 2016, lowering the US economy by 20%. He’s pointed to their freezing 3 trillion dollar bond market as evidence. As yet, this isn’t directly indicative–though it seems compelling. Bass has been preaching Chinese economic declination and subsequent currency devaluation since around the end of the fourth quarter in 2015. Now it’s August, and as yet his predictions have yet to bear fruit. Is he trying to manipulate investors into curtailing their investments to secure his own? That seems to be the case, but it’s hard to know. One thing is sure: Bass has some kind of ulterior motive.
