Bruce Levenson Seeks A Legal Conclusion To Atlanta Hawks Insurance Claim

Bruce Levenson is well known as the former owner of the Atlanta Hawks NBA franchise from 2005 to 2015, but his links to the team have not come to an end with the sale of the franchise to billionaire Tony Ressler; lawyers for Bruce Levenson have recently filed papers in a Fulton County court detailing a breach of contract claim the founder of UCG is making against insurance giant AIG. The insurance claim relates to a constructive dismissal argument made about the mutual termination of the $18 million contract of former Hawks General Manager Danny Ferry.

The initial claim began in April 2015 when AIG were informed of an impending claim to be made by the then owners of the franchise, Atlanta Hawks Basketball and Entertainment LLC. Despite Ferry’s contract being terminated in June 2015 just two days before the announcement of the sale of the Hawks to Forbes billionaire Tony Ressler, who had earlier attempted to buy the L.A. Clippers franchise. Attorney’s for Levenson and his fellow consortium members recently stated they have had no contact from AIG since making the claim, and have been prompted to make the breach of contract claim to find justice from the Fulton County court.
