Singer Kelly Clarkson has finally received an apology from Chris Wallace after the Fox News anchormen was involved in a ‘fat shaming’ conversation last week that involved Clarkson.
The original incident occurred a few days ago when Wallace was a guest on a talk show hosted by Mike Gallagher. During the conversation, Gallagher brought up Kelly Clarkson by asking if Chris Wallace was aware of how Clarkson looked nowadays, adding “Holy cow, did she blow up.”
At first Wallace simply ignored the comment, but it later got the better of him and he finally made a comment about her needing to “lay off the pizza” for a while.
That statement and Mike Gallagher’s nasty comments were what got both of the men in trouble, with social media exploding over the issue.
Chris Wallace then apologized on Sunday saying he was sorry about what he had said, and he should have concentrated on her talent instead as it is something he really admires.
His apology was followed soon after with one from Mike Gallagher who even admitted, as he was overweight himself, he was the last person that should be commenting on Kelly Clarkson’s weight. Particularly in the nasty way he did.
As for Kelly herself, she was on The Ellen Show last week where she said she always ignored most of the mean comments about her anyway, as she had been a frequent target ever since American Idol.
