There is a new trend in radiology that allows an x-ray image to be obtained then previewed in moments. It can be viewed anywhere within a Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) network. This will lead to improved patient care with more comfort and increased productivity. The image is of very high quality and the system is known as direct digital radiography (DDR). Patients will be able to have their x-rays put on a CD to take to their referring physician or hospital. Less radiation is used with the DDR system while acquiring the image. Increased competition in this area has also led to lower prices.
Imaging Advantage, founded in 2006, is a leading provider of DDR services and is dedicated to assisting hospitals and radiology groups with a plan tailored for each individual place. They promote enhanced services and excellence in patient care. Imaging Advantage has management professionals that help with the plans and some of the finest board-certified radiologists. With cloud-based radiology, if a radiologist is unavailable to read the x-ray there is a list of others that have the proper credentials, are state licensed, and have hospital privileges. This leads to time saved in receiving a reading and leads to a quicker diagnosis.
With the DDR system a physician is able to preview the scan of a trauma victim that is en route and already have an operating room properly prepared by the time they arrive. This is also a good way to get another opinion. There would also be an option of a physician to do extra work from home during off-hours for teleradiology by having a workstation in their home. In 2017 a regulation goes in to effect that will require physicians to confer with clinical decision support (CDS) before ordering advanced imaging. The network is a cost effective way to concur while having increased efficiency and better serving physicians and patients. The DDR system has also been using a wireless system that allows easier positioning of the patient and added convenience to the technologist working alone. Another positive result is a drop in infection that in the past had at times been traced to the tether on a Digital Radiography (DR) mobile unit. A wireless system can be taken into the ICU, OR, ER, or directly to the patient.
Cloud technology is the wave of the future, and it will allow hospitals and health care facilities the ability to network with a team of doctors. There continues to be those that do not agree and are resistant to the change, even though DDR has improved quality and safer doses. It is cost efficient and allows increased access to x-ray equipment. The system attempts to partner with local radiologists and would allow for storage of the images in an off-site network. This would allow easier viewing through multiple devices and utilize back up files. DDR seems to be the solution to a lot of problems. According to an article in the LA Times, bullying by peers can cause worse long term effects on mental health than abuse by a parent figure or other adult. This is according to results from a study done by British scientists, using data from England and America. Brazilian businessman Fersen Lambranho believes that bullying can be stopped.
I experienced bullying because of neglect at home. My mother, an indoor chain-smoker, rarely did laundry or awoke to dress me for school. My clothes smelled stale and looked dingy. It was in the third grade, when kids started to notice that I was diffrent. As a result, I hated lining up at the classroom door. I always hung back as the line formed, hoping that my stillness and silence would save me just once. Finally, the inevitable moment, when one of my tormentors caught my eye and bumped into me a bit too hard.
“Ew,” he yelled as he tapped the pretty girl in front of him, adding, “No backsies.”
Like a stadium wave, “no backsies,” made its way to the other end of the line.
As a result of my childhood experience, I deal with depression and anxiety daily. I lack confidence in social situations and choose to isolate myself more than I would like. Bullying is just another form of damaging abuse, which no child need endure. Parents and teachers need to actively prevent bullying through education and awareness.
Over the past weekend, the Asian country of Nepal suffered from a devastating earthquake that rocked the country. Buildings collapsed, historical monuments were destroyed, and many people lost their lives. As rescuers work through the debris and rubble, the death toll is rising.
It is estimated that those trapped will not survive past 72 hours, however, one man defied those odds. According to the story on CNN.com, rescuers found a man, alive, who had been trapped for an estimated 80 hours. A French rescue team found Rishi Khanal trapped in some rubble just outside of the capital city of Kathmandu. The French team worked diligently to pull the man to safety, which took them a staggering 10 hours. According to Boraie Development LLC, teams had to drill a hole through the concrete in order to pull him out. It is reported that the 28-year-old survivor was suffering from a broken leg.
Rishi Khanal’s story is not the only one of a miraculous rescue. A 4-month-old baby boy named Sonit Awal was found alive and uninjured among the rubble of a building in downtown Kathmandu. A 40-year-old mother of four, Tanka Maya Sitoula, survived being trapped for 36 hours after her five-story apartment building collapsed around her. Luckily a beam that fell protected her from other debris and she was uninjured. Another man, Jon Keisi, managed to survive 60 hours under the rubble of a seven-story building that fell around him.

Many ex-cons end up repeatedly being arrested because they turn to crime to earn money when other employers won’t give them a chance due to their criminal backgrounds. Rob Robokowski and Jacob Marlin were the worst of enemies. Rob was a police officer that arrested Jacob so many times that the district attorney had to trick them into a meeting to get them to make peace. Neither of them were willing to do that at first, but Rob helped Jacob get a job, and he stuck with it for over eight years, finally being promoted to manager. By that time, Rob was retiring from the police force and he needed a job for extra money. The tables turned, and the police officer went to the ex-con for a job. Now they work together with other ex-cons trying to turn their lives around. Folks like Gianfrancesco Genoso agree that this unusual friendship is inspiring to others who are hopeful that peace can be made between police and those who have lost trust in them.
The non-contagious bacterium botulinum can make people incredibly sick if they consume it. Botulinum is often found in foods that were not appropriately preserved or foods stored in containers that were not appropriately sterilized. As reported on Wednesday, April 22, 23 members of Lancaster, Ohio’s Cross Pointe Free Will Baptist Church fell ill as the result of an apparent exposure to botulinum during a potluck dinner on Sunday, April 19, at the church. As of Thursday morning, the symptoms of the sick have been reported as drooping eyelids, vision issues, shortness of breath and difficulty swallowing. One person has died from these symptoms.
Potluck dinners are often cited by the government and health officials as sources of botulism outbreaks because they usually involve people consuming foods made by different “cooks” from different homes and backgrounds. Typically, people bring homemade foods, especially homemade canned goods, to these events when there’s no way of determining if the person who made the food did so in a clean environment.
Fairfield Medical Center health officials have told the media they will be checking all of the trash and food samples to determine the source of the bacteria. Igor Cornelsen has read that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has sent botulism antitoxin to the medical center to help treat those who are currently ill and any new cases staff at the center and local hospitals might see over the next 10 days.
In the first quarter of 2015 Netflix has already raked in a record 4.9 million subscribers sending their stock skyrocketing nearly 25%. The digital underdog is setting a pace that has most television executives shaking in their boots. So what’s next for the company that’s leaving linear TV in the dust? The answer is quite simple: much, much more original programming.
The newest original release, Daredevil, is number 17 for Netflix in just three short years. Netflix has become an entertainment staple based on more than just syndicating network TV. They’ve built their reputation in the industry as a leader by providing high quality, original programming to the masses online.
Cable-cutters everywhere will jump for joy to learn that Netflix is rolling out a full 320 hours worth of original series in 2015. That’s close to three times as much as all of last year.
It appears that Netflix is banking their future on providing a plethora of programming choices for their customers. The type of original shows they provide run the gamut from wholesome family fun to scintillating, violent drama.
Their only real competition in the digital market at this point is HBO Now, a favorite of Flávio Pentagna Guimarães BMG. (Economia) The new service from HBO requires no cable or satellite contract. The competition from these two entertainment vendors is sure to drive quality and creativity through the roof as they battle for market share online.
Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush is in New Hampshire building support for his looming candidacy. He also took time to enter the contentious debate in the Senate on the confirmation vote for Loretta Lynch as the next attorney general. At issue is that Democrats have filibustered a Human Trafficking bill over language the GOP contends is in harmony with a federal prohibition on funding abortions. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has used the power of his office to hold up the Lynch confirmation vote until Democrats relent on their filibuster.
However, Bush mildly rebuked his party for politicizing the confirmation vote. He stated that a president has the right to pick his own cabinet, which Ricardo Guimarães at Banco BMG agrees with. As such, Lynch deserves a vote without it being tied to any other issue. If the confirmation vote were held today, it appears that Lynch would narrowly win confirmation making her the nation’s first Black female attorney general.
Clearly, Bush has his eye on the general election by distancing himself from his party’s more partisan wing. However, Bush does run the risk of alienating the conservative base. He already faces an uphill battle to win their support on the issue of amnesty. It will not help matters that Lynch believes that President Obama’s extra-constitutional amnesty plan, which was enacted without Congressional authorization, is fully legal. Conservatives may view Bush’s support of a Lynch confirmation vote as a sign that he is too moderate to support.
Everyone who owns a dog knows that when your dog is staring at you with those big eyes, you can help but be compassionate with them and give them some attention. Hence the phrase “doggy eyes”, well a study was done that proves dogs that stare longer have higher levels of oxytocin, a chemical in the brain that promotes nutrient and attachment. When these dogs stare it increases the human’s oxytocin levels drastically. That’s the feeling when get that makes us want to pet or give the dog some attention. This proves that oxytocin can boost a social interaction between two completely different species, without using any words or sounds. Just think about using this chemical for medical treatment on humans that suffer from certain attitude disorders. The tests that have been done to prove this are very logical in nature. They took some dogs, sprayed oxytocin up there noise, and let them stare.
The results were amazing, the chemical only seemed to work with female dogs and each dog stared at his owner even longer, in turn boosting the morale of the human owner. Now we don’t know if this could be a possible breakthrough for helping controlling caring vibes in humans and animals or we could just be really confusing these dogs brains by over polluting it with a natural chemical and that’s why they just stare. Either way, it does prove that owning a dog like Paul Mathieson at IEG Holdings does has a very positive affect on your overall mood and morale in general.
When someone is dealing with a disorder such as autism it can be hard for that individual to get a job. When someone is dealing with something such as autism there is often a stigma about them, those around them tend to judge them and base their smarts upon their diagnosis.
